The cast list for Dancing With the Stars was already announced by ABC. It will begin its 11 season on September 20 for viewers who care. Last week the media leaked who would be dancing this year. It involves Bristol Palin, “The Situation,” David Hasselhoff, Aurina Patridge and Brandy. NJ.com reports that the rest of the star-studded cast will contain: standup comic and potential Bristol Palin-The Situation love triangle raider Margaret Cho; previous “Brady Bunch” mom Florence Henderson; Vanessa Williams’ husband Rick Fox; semi-balding on-again, off-again Nicollette Sheridan man toy Michael Bolton; and “Baby” from “Dirty Dancing,” Jennifer Grey. Jennifer Grey will likely be the center-stage story of Dancing With the Stars this year. DWTS could possibly be the reason her life was saved.

Auto accident with Jennifer Grey

Jennifer Grey knows how to dance, however after an automobile incident several years ago, it seemed as if she might never dance again. Grey talked to Zap2It. She explained that she talked to a neurological spine surgeon since she was having really bad pain in her neck. She had wanted to be on DWTS for years and had heard that the surgeon had worked on dancer Karina Smirnoff, so Grey scheduled an appointment. Grey had some torn ligaments in her neck because of the incident. Apparently nobody had treated her correctly. Grey was told by the surgeon that her spinal cord was compressed because of the degenerated condition. Grey would be permanently paralyzed with any minor shift from a blow. Grey decided it was time for surgery. She got her neck fused. The doctor talked to her during this. He said she should have a benign nodule removed.

Now she is able to take the floor for “Dancing With the Stars.” Jennifer Grey only went through treatment for the show. That is how DWTS saved her life. “I was so frightened of the surgery, I didn’t want to even consider that it would be successful. And it was so successful, I proceeded to do everything else on my ‘to-do’ list that I was afraid of, including doing this show,” Grey told Zap2It. “I figure that if I don’t do it now, I’ll be too old for it. My body is clearly giving out.”
