Spa Breaks for Vampires

True Blood, New Moon, Being Human – it seems we can’t get enough of vampires at the moment.

Twilight and New Moon has allowed people to rediscover werewolves, vampires and mythical creatures. Does the fascination with the dark side ever disappear? My generation had the likes of Christopher Lee to swoon over, where as today’s luckier generation have the hunky Robert Pattinson and ultra sext vampire plots.

Who would win the female vampire fashion stakes? Rosalie or Alice Cullen. Twilight fans are snapping up black and inky nail polish in an attempt to become Edward Cullen. Bring out your inner Goth with names like Bogota Blackberry, Malaga Wine and Merry Midnight.

So do these glamorous bloodsuckers ever need spa treatments? Judging by the latest box office hit, New Moon, then I would say they’re rarely far from some pampering. The noughties age of vampires are well groomed, very gorgeous and very wanted. Would you not like to help a vampire after all that hunting? Those cool marble-like muscles of stone could do with a firm Swedish back massage and those ghostly pale complexions – have they never heard of blusher?

I’m pretty confident that if Edward and the rest of the Cullen family was to take a spa break at TLH we’d have Twilight fans queuing round the block at The Toorak, Carlton, Victoria and Derwent Hotels and self catering Torquay holiday accommdation to share the Aztec Spa with these very popular characters from the books and films.

Vampires evoke a fascination with many? Female vamps are treated as objects of desire just think back to Hammer House movies with full bosoms and tempting open necks? Women are dangerous, but isn’t a relationship with a vampire really dangerous. They can’t help themselves after all. The target audience of teenage girls has responded to New Moon by swamping cinemas. Older women love New Moon too – it goes to show, you rarely grow out of the vampire thing. Who’s got my garlic?
